![]() ![]() Except for Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones has a certain respect for the foreign places it depicts - or to put it another way, it makes an effort to convey their beauty and grandeur and mystery. Those have some great set design and cinematography, but the Mummy is just flat and boring. It also lacks any of the visual artistry that went into the Indiana Jones films. ![]() It just doesn't quite pull off what it's going for most of the time - most story beats are just a bit too predictable, the jokes miss more often than they hit, the characters are a little too generic compared to something like Raiders of the Lost Ark.
